Verbena Bonariensis

A perennial for some, and a reseeding annual for others. This vibrant accent flower makes boring bouquets pop. It's rough and thin stems can make harvesting a chore. Try mowing down the whole plant and letting it re-grow. Vanity is supposedly a more compact variety which could be good or bad. I've seen "plain" V. bonariensis reach 5-6 ft. tall in some places. If yours tends to get unmanageably tall, try Vanity. Vanity is supposed to top out between 2-3 feet, but when I saw it, it was closer to 4 feet in height. So I think height has more to do with cultural conditions than genetics in this case. Finesse is more likely to reach 4' in height easily.
