Rutabagas - Organic

Rutabagas are Certified Organic from Olden Organics Farm in Ripon, Wiscnosin. Available in 2 lb. bag. The rutabaga is a root vegetable that is absolutely deserving of attention and exploration. It tastes earthy and vegetal, sometimes likened to a mellower version of a turnip, carrot, or cabbage (or a combination of all three). It can be eaten on its own, but it goes well with other root vegetables as well. Its size and shape shouldn't scare you. With a little tweaking on the chopping board, you may have a gorgeous vegetable that's ready for a myriad of culinary uses. Because they contain less starch, they can be used in place of potatoes.
