They are given a light coat of polyurethane which will help preserve their appearance and give it a durable finish. Please Note: Since our switch plates are made of heavy duty cast iron not plastic, please be aware that on occasion there is a small possibility they may leave very small gaps around switches and outlets. However most customers don't see this as a problem.
