‘Alright’, a new LP from LA musician & Tiktok "interpolation whisperer" LUXXURY (Blake Robin) finds the bassline-obsessed disco producer experimenting with electronic funk and bedroom synthpop. “I love treating vocals like instruments” says LUXXURY, “backgrounding and balancing them as sounds, so the listener gets lost in the groove.” Indeed the star of the 11 songs is the 11 infectious and melodic basslines that ground the swirling synths and dusty beats as vocal fragments coolly dip in and out of the mix.
