North American Elk

One of the largest species in the deer family that is often mistaken for Moose, the Elk or the wapiti (Cervus canadensis) are important for restoring ecosystems, especially plant communities, within their habitats. Elk are known for suffering from parasites and bacterial diseases which conservationists are studying to help elk populations. Poaching for meat and their antlers is also another concern for this species.  In support, 20% of net profits from this shirt will be donated to Defenders of Wildlife.
