With the most endangered of the Orca having only 73 remaining, the Orca (Orcinus orca) faces extinction due to pollution, declining prey availability, and disturbance from vessel traffic pose significant threats to the Southern Resident Killer Whale. These intelligent and social marine mammals are essential to the balance of marine ecosystems. Conservation is vital to protect their critical habitats and ensure the survival of distinct populations. Educating people about the ecological importance of killer whales fosters a greater understanding of their role in maintaining the health of the ocean.
