Smaller and darker than its mainland cousins, this critically endangered cat is known for its thick black stripes and piercing gaze. Fewer than 400 remain in the wild due to rampant deforestation, palm oil expansion, and poaching. Once roaming across Southeast Asia, their range has shrunk to isolated forest patches, making them one of the most endangered big cats on Earth.
