Velociraptor Hoodie
Velociraptor, whose name means ‘swift thief’, lived during the Late Cretaceous period, about 75 million years ago, in what is now Mongolia. Unlike the man-sized predators popularized in film, real Velociraptors were about the size of a large turkey—roughly 2 meters long and weighing around 15 kilograms. Covered in feathers, they were agile, intelligent hunters that used their sickle-shaped second toe claw as a weapon, slashing at prey or pinning it down. Fossil evidence shows Velociraptors in combat with herbivores like Protoceratops, proving their ferocity despite their small size. With a likely pack-hunting strategy and keen eyesight, they were one of the most effective predators of their ecosystem.
