Antique Indian Courtyard Door Bleached and Converted into a Coffee Table
This coffee table began its life as a 19th-century sheesham wood courtyard door from India and has been thoughtfully repurposed into a rustic, functional centerpiece. The original door’s planked surface has been bleached for a softer tone and rests on a carved apron featuring scrolling rosette motifs. Iron braces and visible studs retain the structure’s historic integrity while adding to its textured appearance. Supporting the top are four turned baluster legs connected with iron stretchers, complemented by carved spandrels that enhance its sculptural quality. The piece balances weathered character with detailed craftsmanship, making it suitable for both indoor use and protected outdoor areas. Signs of wear are consistent with age and contribute to its authentic, timeworn charm—offering a piece of Indian heritage reimagined for modern living.
