A jay in flight graces the top of this antique beveled glass beauty, with wisps of wind on each side. Jays are associated with knowledge, learning, and psychic abilities. Perhaps the original owner wished to connect to the other realm or higher forces, or perhaps she admired these bold, aggressive birds. A positively dreamy box for your altar or vanity. Antique glass and gilt metal. Victorian Era, most likely made in Europe. Measures 4 inches across, 3 tall. Lovely condition. Some wear to finish and bend to prongs, as expected with age. Glass is secure and in beautiful shape with minimal chips/scratches. The original shabby tufted pillow remains, while not attached.
