Ameico Poultry Shears
Born in Sondrio, Italy in 1921, Antonia Campi is a renowned ceramicist, jewelry, metal and glass designer who was awarded a Compasso D'Oro in 2011 for a lifetime of achievement in design. While she produced some beautiful sculpture and art, her contributions to industrial design are also significant. These poultry scissors, part of MoMA's permanent collection, are a re-issue of Campi's 1960 “Italicus” Poultry Shears (model 397) produced by Ermenegildo Collini S.p.A. Simply shaped to fit the hand with a responsive spring mechanism these utilitarian shears are an object of beauty. Form. Function. Gift boxed.
