Hand dyed using Marigold and Sappanwood. Marigold (Tagetes erecta) is native to Central America. Marigolds were used by The Aztecs in rituals and to flavor cocoa, in Mexico the marigold is used in the Dia de Muertos festivals and ceremonies and in India, the marigold is thought to symbolize the sun and purity and are used for weddings and other auspicious events. Sappanwood (Biancaea sappan) is a species of flowering tree, native to SE Asia and India. The sawdust is one of the traditional Japanese dyes. These lounge pants are entirely biodegradable.
