1960s Silk Taffeta Party Dress by Elis Porter | S

vintage early 1960s  feather light silk taffeta in an arresting painterly pink and plum scrolling floral print. the unique design echoing elements of the late 18th century robe à l’anglaise, including a pointed bodice, and heavily pleated skirt. dress is fully lined in sheer pink silk for added structure. purple metal Conmar zipper up the back.  beautifully crafted custom made/tailored piece. label: Elis Porter for Filene's French Shops  note: The French Shops at Filene's were known for carrying European couture and high end designer labels from the 1920s-1960s. size: small bust: approx. 35"waist: 27"dropped waist at seam: 30"hips: freebodice length: 17"total length: 44" very good/excellent condition. the right sleeve lining is torn at the shoulder and the left lining appears delicate, my guess is as a result of being stored on a metal hanger. this doesn't effect appearance, wearability or overall integrity of the design. could be removed or replaced if desired.  __________________ rev
