era: Victorian, late 1800s approx. modern size: xxsmall waist: 22" maxhip: freelength: 34" wonderful tan and black wool (or wool blend) weave creates a changeable brown tone that appears lighter or darker depending on how it catches light. lined in tan cotton, with an inner layer of cotton batting. trimmed with velvet at the hem and with beautiful indigo-dyed canvas at the waist, hand-stitched quilting throughout in a wave design. pleating and darts at the waist, along with heavy gathering at the back create a voluminous form. closes with single enameled metal button. condition: good condition for age. freshly laundered, sturdy and wearable with appropriate care. damaged waistband and back placket have been reworked and repaired with a combination of hand and machine stitching, and in keeping with the overall spirit of the piece, to the best of my ability.  lining is in excellent shape, outer wool layer has some areas of wear an a little damage. these areas seem stable, and do not detr
