Lowboy

Inspired by the form of a traditional Queen Anne piece, Pernt's Lowboy marries a modern aesthetic with traditional woodworking techniques.  The reclaimed old growth fir is harvested from dumpsters at renovation sites in Brooklyn--lumber of this age cannot be obtained readily from other sources.  Contrasting with the amber exterior are black walnut drawers joined with hand cut dovetails.  Supple hot-waxed leather drawer pulls invite one's hand to the piece.  Butterfly keys, patches, and epoxy-filled voids map the history of the lumber that once was slated for the landfill, but now is given new life as an heirloom piece of furniture. 8-10 week lead time
