The Malta Island Black Unknown Fig variety originates from the Mediterranean island of Malta. This fig variety was introduced by a well-known fig grower named Marius, and appears to be different variety than a similarly name fig called Malta Black Fig. Dark purple skin, round shape, and deep red pulp. Delicious sweet strawberry flavor. This is a self fertile or common fig, which does not require the fig wasp pollination to produce ripe figs.
