The notorious boat scene on the lake in Leave Her to Heaven (1946, John Stahl) just got to be one of the most perturbing sequences in the history of Hollywood. Gene Tierney makes a great femme fatale, truly exceptional in the role of psychotic Ellen Berent. Gene’s angelic beauty and her cruelty are an amazing combination. That image stands out for me: those tortoiseshell sunglasses, great hair style and padded shoulders. That’s 40’s glamour done to perfection! I hope I was able to do it justice! • The watermark will not appear on the printed poster. I also have Gene in Laura. If you want both posters as a set, click here. Other Noir Classic Movies?
