2002 Sierra Cantabria Finca El Bosque

This vineyard has an area of 1.5 hectares, and it is located on a gentle southeast-facing slope, at a height of 500 meters above sea level, the Sierra de Cantabria protects it from the cold and damp winds from the north. The variety of the vineyard is ‘Tempranillo’ which is planted in a sandy clay loam soil where the presence of boulders is common; this structure leads to proper aeration, porosity, water retention and provides nutrients. The vines are trellised on an espalier with a bilateral cordon where, on each of the arms, two spurs prune to one visible bud are left.
