The first adventure into the world of American single malts for this distinguished distiller, the WhistlePig Farm Beholden 21 year old Single Malt Whiskey is a wonderfully crafted dram offering a vastly more mature and refined approach compared to what many other producers have been doing in the single malt market. Bottled at 92-proof, WhistlePig Beholden is the first edition of WhistlePig's super-aged whiskeys and was introduced in March of 2023. Crafted from a selection of just 18 American oak ex-bourbon barrels and aged for a minimum of 21 years, WhistlePig Beholden is then finished for 4 weeks in the distillery's singular rye barrels - imparting a distinctive and discernible profile. Expect a nose of rich layers over stone fruits, oak, and spice complementing a palate of baked sugar, maple, and traces of newly cut grass clippings.
