This carbon steel center grate fits flush into the surface of these top-of line models and adds an extra layer to ensure your food stays fresh. It's made out US Steel, meaning that it will never need maintenance; perfect if you don't want any hassle with pitting or rusting like other metals can do over time due their lack durability. Note: When the grill grate arrives, the surface will be silver (unseasoned). It will develop the dark seasoned color shown in the images once it's been used several times and properly seasoned.
