The only working copy of Tiger I in the world (side number 131). This vehicle was captured by soldiers of the 48th Royal Tank Regiment (48 RTR, A Squadron, 4 Troop) at Djebel Djaffa on April 21, 1943 in the last month of the campaign in Tunisia (Africa). It is the first Tiger captured intact by British and American troops. It was brought to Tunisia by the Germans between March 22 and April 16, 1943 and put into battle with the 48th Royal Tank Regiment near Medjez-el-Bab on April 21, 1943. It destroyed two Churchilles, but a six-pounder shot damaged the turret and wounded the commander. The crew had to leave the tank to save lives. The defect is still visible in the yoke and front plates. Completely damaged elements were replaced with parts from other tanks. In October 1943 the vehicle was sent to England.
