Kale - Lacinato This is a fantastic compact kale to grow. Sometimes called dinosaur kale, probably because of the texture of the leaves. Compared to red Russian kale, this variety has thicker but skinnier leaves. It is equally as easy to grow and bountiful. Four plants is more than enough for two people, we couldn't eat enough!  Type: Heirloom When to Plant:  North Florida: September - March Central Florida: September - March South Florida: September - March Planting instructions: Plant in a spot with full sun and well-draining soil. Give each plant 8-12” of space between each other. Sow directly into the garden or start transplants undercover.
