Lettuce - Freckles A unique looking lettuce. This lettuce gets its name from its dark green leaves that are speckled with deep purple spots. This lettuce will make your garden and your salad bowl more interesting. Type: Heirloom When to Plant:  North Florida: September - October & February - March   Central Florida: September - March South Florida: September - January Planting instructions: Plant in a spot with full sun and well-draining soil. Give each plant 8-12” of space between each other. Sow directly into the garden or start transplants undercover.
