Cascina Valle Asinari Barbera Nizza 2017 Originally a subzone of Barbera d’Asti DOCG, Nizza became a separate DOCG in 2014 Cascina Valle Asinari is one of Piedmont’s most historic wineries and estates. It is located in San Marzano Oliveto (Asti province), in the rolling hills of Monferrato in an area known as the “valley of the donkey wranglers” (asinari comes from asino or donkey). Here, Barbera grapes grown on sandstone and limestone soils achieve their greatest potential thanks to the ideal conditions for the production of Barbera d’Asti Superiore and Nizza DOCG.
