Francesco Rinaldi & Figli Cannubi Barolo 2013 Francesco Rinaldi e Figli is an Italian wine producer, located in the Barolo appellation. It produces a range of wines in the various regional styles of Piedmont with signature variety here, Nebbiolo. Established in 1870, the brand was originally associated with the red wines of Alba, before the inaugural Barolo vintage in 1906. Founder Giovanni Rinaldi established the winery and cellar in the highly regarded Barolo Cannubi region. The winery was named for Giovanni's youngest son Francesco after he took over sole charge of the estate from his brothers in 1922. Francesco's granddaughters took over in the 1990s, expanding the winery's commercial markets internationally. Critical Acclaim 95 Vinous The 2013 Barolo Cannubi is unusually deep and powerful, both of which bode very well for the future, but make the wine forbidding in the early going. Not that readers should be too concerned with drinking these wines young in the first place thou
