Fritz Haag Riesling 2020 750ml
Fritz Haag Riesling 2020 750ml This cuvee comes from the blue slate soils of the steep (75%) slope sites of Brauneberg. Short skin contact with gentle pressing then ageing 5 months on lees yielded this wine with 14.2 g/l RS and 7.4 g/l TA 11.5% alc. The sun-trap, south-facing, slate-strewn slopes of Fritz Haag's Riesling vineyards capture all the gentle ripeness and fizzing acidity of the Mosel. These are often most apparent in the off-dry, Feinherb styles, which carry around 10-20 grams of residual sugar, but don't really show much sweetness With some kitchen herb aromas, a lick of earthy, slaty spice, and a tense fragility on the palate, this is a beautifully integrated Riesling that provides real drinking pleasure. Critical Acclaim 92 James Suckling An elegant, sleek and silky dry Mosel with such charming floral, herbal and white-fruit aromas. For those sensitive to sweetness this will seem medium-dry, but for many wine drinkers this will be dry enough. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
