Roagna’s 2014 Barolo Pira comes from a historic monopole in Castiglione Falletto, planted to old-vine Nebbiolo on limestone soils. The estate farms without chemicals and ferments with native yeasts after long maceration. Aging takes place in large neutral botti for five years. The 2014 vintage brings lifted aromatics and fine structure. It’s a classical Barolo in a cooler year, with Roagna’s hallmark transparency and aging potential firmly in place.
