La Mauny XO Rhum Vieux Agricole (700mL)
A delicious, complex bend of aged Rums from Maison de Mauny in Martinique. In 1749, Ferdinand Poulain, Count de Mauny, traveled from France to Martinique in the Caribbean. He married the daughter of a sugar plantation owner on the south side of the island. By 1820 they had installed a distillery on site and have begun to make Rum and Tafia (a low, un-aged sugarcane liquor). The plantation and distillery have greatly expanded over the years, and today they offer a wide range of Rums — from clear mixers through premium aged spirits. One of the benefits of producing Rum on the same plantation for two hundred years is that you build up a huge inventory in your storage rick-houses. La Mauny XO Rhum Vieux Agricole is a blend of twelve La Mauny Rums — the youngest of which is seven years old. But the average age is ten years.
