BenRiach The Smoky Ten Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700mL)

Peat it is, you see. Only from the forest, not the sea. The BenRiach distillery was founded in 1898 by John Duff. The distillery has a storied history, having been largely inactive in the early 20th century after being mothballed in 1900 due to the collapse of a major Scotch Whisky purchaser. It was reopened again in 1965, but remained struggling until 2004 when it was acquired by an independent consortium. This new ownership, led by Scotch expert Billy Walker, revitalized the brand, which is now proudly owned by Brown-Forman. The BenRiach The Smoky Ten is a modern and compelling peated whisky expression from this Speyside distillery. While peated malts are more commonly produced in the western isle of Islay, BenRiach has a rich, centuries-old history of producing peated whisky, a tradition it has proudly revived.
