The story begins in the 18th century when a Swiss Mennonite farmer settled near Pennsylvania’s Blue Mountain Valley and started harvesting grains – he was soon faced with a pleasant problem as he had too much of them, so he decided to distill them into Whiskey. But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for America’s first distilling company, especially during the lovely Prohibition times when they were forced to shut down. Then, in the 1990s, Joseph J. Magliocco and Richard Newman decided to resurrect the brand with the original "cost be damned" mindset they apply to every step of the production process.
