I created this trivet to be a utilitarian piece of art- functional, versatile and durable enough to be used everyday. To accomplish this, I applied two coats of resin to the surface and sides, which also gives it a glass-like look. The resin coating can withstand 135 degrees, making it an excellent piece for the kitchen.
