The shrimp will be healthy and near breeding age.  The orange eyed blue tiger shrimp (OEBT) is a fairly common shrimp in the hobby. Due to the beautiful coloration it can hold, there are many breeders in the US that breed OEBT’s. The appearance of the shrimp is that of a standard tiger shrimp but also having orange eyes and a blue hue. The greatest set back with OEBT’s is that they do not breed true. Often times, they will breed blonde colored shrimp appose to a nice blue color. Since OEBT’s produce blonde shrimp, a colony requires culling (the removal of unwanted shrimp) to be done in order to maintain a high percentage of blue babies.
