Rhipsalis clavata
Rhipsalis clavata This delicate epiphytic jungle cactus is native to Brazil, growing as an epiphyte on branches of trees in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. It thrives in the tropical forests of southeastern Brazil. Features long, much-branched stems that are erect when young but soon hanging, often growing over 3.3 feet long. The joints are narrowly club-shaped, deep green to brown, and arranged in terminal whorls of 2 to 7, reaching a length of 1.2 inches. With more sun, the plant can take a pinkish cast. White, bell-shaped flowers appear in spring near the end of the branches, measuring up to 0.6 inches long, followed by spherical, white or yellowish fruits up to 0.25 inches in diameter. Non-toxic to humans and pets. It’s as fragile as it looks—try to avoid any contact with the plant unless watering or tending to it as it is easily broken. Care Requirements: Protect from direct midday or afternoon sun—exposure can burn leaves, turn them yellow, or cause spotting. Our Classic or Shaggy
