flight palimpsest artblock

  a lovely raven in flight. Each piece has multiple layers of handwritten stories on flight & imagination, that are sanded lightly & erased before the next layer is added. The palimpsests have such a distinct feel of living thought captured in flight. They're some of our favorite pieces... description average size of storyblock: 5" w, 7 "h, 1 - 1.5" d wood species will vary according to what we have on hand each block is shaped & painted here in the studio with our unique bird & brush process:  the final piece has 6-8 layers of paint, ink, & graphite (including a secret handwritten wish...) - making each an original complimentary gift wrap with a small card telling a brief history of the chosen wood & the bird & brush series artist art created by Kai on 04 January 2022
