The Maestro Series Cremona SV-1700 violin differs from the SV-1750 in one area. The 1700 is inlaid with bone, where the SV-1750 uses Mother-of-Pearl inlays. These violins are perfect replicas of a famous “inlaid” Stradivarius. Every detail is faithfully reproduced, including Stradivari’s original lozenge-and-circle, top and back border inlays in mother of pearl. The workmanship is exquisite throughout. The select, even-grained spruce top is 100+ years old. The back is a single piece of the choicest, 100+-year-old, deeply-flamed maple, with matching sides and neck. This combination yields a broad, sympathetic tone that responds to the slightest touch of the bow. The varnish finish is hand-polished to a gleaming luster. Best-quality ebony fingerboard and dark-stained, Hill-style, boxwood fittings complete the instrument.
