130 Australian Bush Outfit
Misses 8-20; Men's 34-44. The Australian Bush Outfit (c.1943-1955) is a classic bush jacket, trousers, and shorts from Hollywood's version of the tropical British colonies. Our sewing pattern has three garments, plus a bag, to sew. The hip length Bush Jacket buttons in the front and has a standard pointed collar and lapels. Front darts and shaped side-back seams provide fit, as do back pleats which drop from a gently-curved back yoke. Two piece sleeves are pleated into buttoned cuffs, a buckled belt is worn slightly high-waisted to further enhance the slim tailoring. Safari pockets and deep flap pockets complete the detailing. Our original garment is made of a loosely-woven, medium weight cotton. The Bush Trousers have a buttoned front fly closing and are pleated into a wide waistband which adjusts with overlapping buckled belt tabs.
