Terrago studied at La Esmeralda in Mexico City, where at the age of fourteen she won first prize in the annual student competition staged by the National Institute of Fine Arts. She studied printmaking and engraving in Poland and Holland, and in 1967 won the award for the National Institute of Fine Arts award for engraving. Her work is in several permanent collections in Europe and the United States, including the Portland Art Museum, Harvard Art Museum, and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
