"Rosa Canina" (cut and sifted) Rosehips are particularly high in vitamin C content, one of the richest plant sources available. Rosehips have recently become popular as a healthy treat for pet chinchillas and guinea pigs as they contain significant levels of vitamins, among them Vitamin C. Since they are unable to manufacture their own vitamin C and are unable to digest many vitamin-C rich foods. Rosehips provide a sugarless, safe way to increase their vitamin C intake. For Degus: feed as treat only! One per week as Rosehips have a slightly higher sugar content. Please keep always in mind when you serve your pet new food: Some animals need their time to smell and try it since a lot of them have never smelled a flower or certain herbs before.
