The data logging function is built in which means the unit can run by itself and the data will be captured by its internal Memory Card (512MB) that can store 1,000,000 logs, equivalent to 277 hours at 1 sample/sec. The internally logged data is then retrieved by connecting a Type C USB cable to a computer and viewing the logged *.CSV files, just like you would with an external USB drive. Very easy and simple, with no extra software required. The *.CSV file can then be imported into EXCEL to graph and manipulate as required. If you want it to data log continuously with a long sample rate, then no problem.
