Kokoro

Kokoro is a dramatic table lamp from the The MaMo Nouchies series by Ingo Maurer. Made of artful strong red paper, gracefully curved around a bar of stainless steel topped with a red silicone peak, Kokoro has a strong sculptural presence. A mirror casts heart a shaped light reflection if Kokoro is placed close to a surface. Metal base, stainless steel connection cable, cord transformer with slide control. Ingo Maurer's long-standing interest in materials and his passion for paper are combined with his admiration for Japanese art. With the MaMo Nouchies, Ingo Maurer and Dagmar Mombach, who developed the technique for transforming the paper, pay homage to Isamu Noguchi, whose ideas were based on the traditional Japanese craft of Akari. The name of the series comes from the first two letters of Maurer's and Mombach's last names, along with Nouchies, a pun on Noguchi.
