(1874). 5"x 7" 299 pages, + 48 pages of Chatto and Windus adverts dated May 1874, Hardcover with no dust jacket. Bright gilt lettering and decoration on front cover and spine. Wear to cover extremities, heavy in places. Some foxing. Wear to the bottom of the title page and preface page. A small brown spot on pages 250 and 251. I see no other previous owner markings. No tears, folds or creases to pages. Binding is tight with no looseness to pages. Not ex-library, not remaindered and not a facsimile reprint. For sale by Jon Wobber, bookseller since 1978. IE28aThis appears to be the American reprint of the first book-length history of diving. "Henry Siebe was the second Son of Augustus Siebe . He was born in 1830.
