INSCRIBED BY AUTGHOR, MERRILL BURLINGAME - "For Mrs. Call/ With appreciation for/ strong supportin in (sic.)/ the Madison Valley/ Merrill G. Burlingame". The incsription does not show well because it is written over the map on the front end paper. Maroon cloth has wear to the extremites, mostly the bottom of the spine. The gilt lettering on the spine appears slightly faded, but still pronounced, while the gilt letteirng on the front cover appears bright. There is an unintended pencil marking on the leading edge of the page block and a discrete bookseller's pencil price on the front endpaper. Inside the back cover is a discrete bookseller's sticker. Otherwise, there are no previous owner markings in the book. I found 2 interior pages (one of which is pictured here) with creases 1/4 way down the page.  Pages are not dog-eared. Binding i
