Nanotyrannus, meaning "dwarf tyrant," is a debated genus of tyrannosaurid dinosaur, potentially a juvenile form of Tyrannosaurus. It is known only from a small skull and lived between 72.1 and 66 million years ago. One key distinction from Tyrannosaurus rex is that Nanotyrannus had a greater number of teeth in both its upper and lower jaws, featuring 14–15 teeth on each side of the upper jaw and 16 on each side of the lower jaw, compared to T. rex’s 11–12 and 11–14, respectively. These dinosaurs likely hunted in pairs or packs, preying on large dinosaurs such as ceratopsians and hadrosaurs
