Balloons (Midtown, Manhattan)

My photographs are entrenched in the narratives of daily life, particularly those surrounding one's relationship to nature and how it is mediated by built spaces and everyday objects. Balloons (Midtown, Manhattan) is part of a series of objects that are trapped in man-made materials: behind windows, encircled by fences, stuck inside greenhouses or wrapped within a string of lights. I try to capture the layers, texture and lines of these often inadvertently beautiful meetings.
