Since 2016, I started using old materials such as old window frames and old lampshades in my art practice. Through the mending process, I explore the concept of rebuilding our broken world. A broken world that is the result of the current political climate and the COVID pandemic. I examine the relationship between the individual and the whole, depicting how human connection grows in society fluidly, to create complex and fragile structures. - Fumi Amano
