Anchor Lapel Pin Watch
A chrome and braided leather lapel pin watch in the form of an anchor. The watch is set just above the arm on the shank of the anchor, just below the stock. The ring at the top is connected to a lapel pin by the original piece of tan braided leather cord. The pin is fronted by a well designed, beveled pin which can be woven through a jacket lapel etc. This stunning little decorative piece was Swiss made and imported into the U.S probably around the late 1930's early 1940's perhaps for the wife or partner of a serving member of the U.S Navy. It was quite common during the war, for the partners left at home to show their support for their loved ones by wearing themed jewellery supporting the section of the armed forces their loved ones were serving in. This type of jewellery was know as "sweetheart jewellery".
