The Genoa Lemon was introduced into California from Genoa Italy in 1875, this variety has similar characteristics to the Eureka Lemon, though the Genoa is more compact, thornless and the fruit is typically seedless. In regions of Chile and Argentina where it is grown commercially, the Genoa Lemon tree is appreciated for its cold resistance and lush, dense foliage. The Genoa lemon's rind has a high oil content which makes the fruit is great for Limoncello and other recipes calling for tart juice and lemon zest. Self-fertile Grown from rooted cuttings.
