Strangled by My Demons

"I drew this during a group therapy session on some scrap paper with a bic pen. I don’t remember what exactly caused the suffocating feeling- like something was slithering out of me, constricting my chest and crawling into my brain, but it was cathartic and satisfying to turn the feeling into something visual. " Much of Hannah's Depression art is inspired by specific feelings or events that find their way to the end of her pen. Though sometimes a little dark, Hannah hopes these illustrations help others who struggle with similar feelings look at these and feel somewhat understood or at least less alone.
