These Replacement Blades are for use in the SLICE® Metal-Handle Utility Knife, Smart-Retracting Metal Squeeze Knife & Drywall Knife. Steel is a soft material, and blades dull very quickly, which is why they are grinded so sharp, to give them a productive life. Ceramic blades are much harder, so they dull slower, and last up to 11.2x longer than metal blades. Ceramic blades are also not as sharp; the cut is made by the pressure applied, so there is reduced risk of injury when handling the blade.
