Omothymus Violaceopes (Singapore Blue)

Description   Scientific Name: Omothymus Violaceopes Common Name: Singapore Blue Classification: Old World Arboreal/Opportunistic Burrower Endemic Location: Malaysia and Singapore Adult Size: Approximately 11" Lifespan: 5 years for males and 14 years for females.  Experience Level: Advanced Info: This is a fast growing species.  This species is rather defensive and extremely fast so caution should be taken when keeping them.  They are classified as an Arboreal species however, in my experience mine burrow deep in the ground more than spending time high up.  This species should be provided with an Arboreal set up but with deep substrate.
